Who I Am
It's not just a profession it's a way of thinking.
I work where product engineering, research, brand and growth strategy, and venture thinking meet. I'm as interested in understanding a problem as I am in building the thing that solves it, and I've found each makes the other better.
How I Think
I'd rather understand a problem properly than solve the wrong one quickly.
01 — Research
I start with the problem and its context: who it affects, what's already known, and what's still a guess.
02 — Strategy
Then I try to reduce the uncertainty to a few clear decisions, so the work has a direction worth committing to.
03 — Engineering
And then I build deliberately, watch what actually happens, and let the outcome shape what comes next.
One practice, four connected areas.
They aren't separate careers. Research shapes the product, the product shapes the brand, and venture thinking keeps all of it honest about whether it's worth doing.

Not a job title. It's how I work when something unclear needs someone to take responsibility for moving it forward.
Alongside my engineering and research work, I've also been involved in building early-stage ventures.
From ambiguity to execution

Choosing architecture and tools that the product, budget, and people around it can sustain.

Mentoring young builders with CoderDojo Sri Lanka and volunteering with STEMUP Educational Foundation.
Research is how I reduce guesswork.
For me it's less a separate activity and more a habit: asking what we actually know, running small experiments, and letting evidence shape product decisions. A lot of it happens by building something and paying attention to what it teaches me.

How I like to work with people and teams.

Start with clarity
Agree on the problem and what a good outcome looks like before anything else.
- 02
Evidence over assumptions
Check what's actually true about the users, the market, and the system before committing.
- 03
Build only what matters
Keep what makes sense and works, and cut the rest. Simple interfaces with real depth.
- 04
Keep strategy close to execution
Decisions should survive contact with the build, so I stay involved in both.

Iterate from evidence
Treat the first version as a question, and let real use answer it.

Communicate clearly
Explain the reasoning behind decisions in plain language, to everyone involved.
Outside Work

I look for aesthetics everywhere: in the forms of nature, the details of architecture, the colors of city streets, and the simple things of everyday life.
It's also where a lot of my product thinking starts. I notice how people interact with spaces, technology, and objects, and those small observations tend to find their way back into the work.
